mSimps, an accessory manufacturing company and creative enterprise in Accra, Ghana was started in 2010 by producing dress brooches and belts but now manufactures handmade leather and wax print handbags, laptop bags, backpacks, leather slippers, loafers, travel luggage and throw pillows with the primary goal of producing quality and innovative Made-In-Ghana products for the global market whilst paying great attention to detail.
The team has grown mSimps through reinvesting earnings over the years and have gained exposure through features on BBC World News, CNBC, and African media such as Business and Financial Times, Graphic Business, Joy Fm, Citi Fm and The KSM Show. mSimps has won a number of awards which includes, Best handbag and purse product at the Ghana Made Awards 2013, Glitz Africa Accessory Brand of the Year 2014, JCI Top Ten Awards 2015 and Ghana Fashion Awards Accessory Brand of the Year 2015. The Founder, Mabel is an IVLP alumna of AWEP (Africa Women’s Entrepreneurship Programme), a programme facilitated by the U.S Department of State. In 2013, mSimps participated in SAITEX, South Africa and has over the years collaborated with other brands to hold pop up shops in Ghana.
Aside individuals, mSimps manufactures products for organisations including Woodin, Unilever, Antique Lemonade, BOND Financial, Busac Fund, Anglogold Ashanti, Allure Spa and FunkynChunky,UK. Our products are available for purchase online, from our flagship shop in Accra and ShopnSave Supermarkets.
The company provides the opportunity for students to have internships during vacations to enable them have hands on knowledge, skill and experience. It also partners with Soar Global Foundation (an NGO dedicated to children education and community development) by organising reading clinics for children in orphanages and deprived schools and also raising funds to stock books for school libraries across Ghana.
